Anthony Davis exploded for a season-high 42 points and 23 rebounds as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Charlotte Hornets 112-107. LeBron James and Austin Reaves also contributed significantly to the Lakers' win. The Hornets played without their star guard, LaMelo Ball, who suffered a left ankle sprain in the second quarter.

Anthony Davis unleashed a dominant performance, shattering his season highs with 42 points and 23 rebounds, as the visiting Los Angeles Lakers outmatched the Charlotte Hornets 112-107 on Monday night. Davis showcased his offensive prowess, sinking 17 of 28 shots from the field, reaching the 40-point milestone for the third time this season. He also dominated the boards, securing eight offensive rebounds and narrowly missing his career high by three.

LeBron James contributed a valuable 22 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists, while Austin Reaves added 17 points to the Lakers' offensive arsenal. This victory marked their fourth consecutive win and their sixth in the last seven games. The Hornets faced a significant setback when their leading scorer, All-Star guard LaMelo Ball, left the game with an injury. Ball exited in the second quarter after suffering a left ankle sprain while backpedaling following a 3-pointer. He managed to score seven points in nine minutes before leaving the court. Miles Bridges led the Hornets with 26 points and eight rebounds, despite their recent struggles, having lost three of their last four games. Josh Okogie chipped in with 19 points, and Josh Green added 15 points. Charlotte initially trailed by as many as 23 points in the first half but managed to close the gap to nine points by halftime. While the Hornets mounted a couple of rallies in the second half, they couldn't secure enough defensive stops, even with center Mark Williams returning after missing Saturday's game due to an injury. Williams' score pulled the Hornets within 108-102 but Dorian Finney-Smith responded with a crucial basket for the Lakers. Green sank three free throws in the final seconds to narrow the gap to 110-107, but Davis sealed the victory for Los Angeles at the free-throw line. The Lakers, in their first game of a four-game in six-day East Coast trip, managed to prevail despite committing 19 turnovers and a dismal 6-for-28 (21.4 percent) from 3-point range.
