“So, we’ve basically created a projection method where we narrow in on comparable players: see what they signed for historically, see what was, what the percentage of the cap ceiling was at the time of their signing.” “The cap goes up over time,” said Stich. “So, the easiest way to give a fair comparison is by looking at that percentage instead.”
“The cap percentage is really what drives this projection,” said James Finch, Stich’s partner. “If we were to look at cap hit just in general, we assume we’d be projecting a bit lower. A lot of players would be missing by a little more because of that.”“Maybe it will temper expectations to an extent, or get him to accept the deal on the table,” said Stich.
