“This year is certainly not beyond the realm of possibility. The report found 30 of India’s largest businesses have invested $6.6 billion in Canada, and employ roughly 17,000 people here.
While negotiators in any trade talks need to take their time to ensure a deal is a win-win for both sides, Goyal said he’s hoping a deal can be done sooner rather than later. After more than a decade of talks trying to reach a comprehensive trade agreement, a less ambitious approach was needed, Ng said.
