CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — An American traveller who slipped and fell down a staircase while trying to board an airplane at the Charlottetown airport is suing Air Canada for damages.According to a statement of claim filed on July 4 in P.E.I. Supreme Court, the plaintiff, Lily Ann Freid, arrived at the Charlottetown airport on Nov. 2, 2015, at around 4 a.m. for a scheduled flight to Montreal and then New York. Freid is a resident of Parsippany, N.J.
Lily Ann Freid, an American traveller who slipped and fell down a staircase while trying to board an airplane at the Charlottetown airport, is suing Air Canada for damages. - Contributed As a result of the fall, she says she suffered a left proximal humerus fracture , a broken ankle, soft tissue injuries and bruising.
The statement of claim contains allegations not tested or proven in court. The statement of claim also does not specify an amount being sought in damages.On Sept. 13, Air Canada filed a statement of defence with the court and denied the allegations, including any negligence or breach of duty by its agents or employees.
