PETALING JAYA: The Alor Setar City Council has stopped issuing licences for massage parlours within its city limits to curb “immoral activities”.
In a brief Facebook post, the council said the decision was in line with a Kedah government decision on June 21.In June, menteri besar Sanusi Nor said the state was considering not renewing the licences of massage parlours given the “immoral” activities taking place in such outlets.
“We will only approve reflexology outlets which meet conditions. If the licence is for a reflexology centre, better be sure it is just for your legs, not to massage something else,” he was quoted by Sinar Harian as saying four months ago.
