Kinsmen Beach at Port Perry’s Palmer Park is finally considered safe to swim in again, although the blue-green algae advisory continues. It’s best to stay out of any water that is discoloured, or where mats of algae are present on the surface. Like usual, the Health Department suggests staying out of any water for at least 48 hours after heavy rainfall, since the surface run-off can introduce more bacteria.
