ATLANTA (AP-CP) — Thiago Almada had a goal and two assists and Atlanta United wrapped up a spot in the post-season with a 4-1 victory over CF Montreal on Saturday night.
Xande Silva picked up his second goal in his seventh appearance for Atlanta United , using an assist from Saba Lobjanidze and Giorgos Giakoumakis in the 30th minute for a 1-0 lead. Silva added an assist three minutes later on Almada's 10th goal of the campaign for a 2-0 lead.
"So, at 2-1, yes, you go into the dressing room and you're still in the game, but you can feel that you're in trouble and that third goal quickly knocked the wind out of us. So, it's unfortunate." Montreal falls to 2-11-2 on the road this season. The club is currently in eighth place in Major League Soccer's Eastern Conference with four games remaining this season.
