IPOH: The Perak government has applied for an allocation from the Federal Government for maintenance works on the East-West Highway from Gerik to Jeli, says Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin.
The state infrastructure, energy, water and public transport committee chairman said the state, however, did not put in an application for allocations to widen the road.“One is for road maintenance works, which includes repairing potholes. The state Public Works Department has submitted an application for this,” he said after handing out food aid and shopping vouchers to the public at the Carsem Banquet Hall here yesterday.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Nizar also gave his assurance that there would be no water cut during the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.
