Snow at the end of October and start of November is certainly not unheard of in Atlantic Canada, but that doesn’t mean everyone is a fan of it.
Some lingering rain and snow bands are clearing Newfoundland, with some scattered showers in eastern Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. However, partly to mostly clear skies are forecast around the region this evening with a low chance of showers in Cape Breton and Newfoundland, and a chance of flurries in Labrador.
It’s going to be cool with temperatures in the low-to-mid single digits, except at or below freezing in much of New Brunswick, along with Newfoundland and Labrador. Inland and higher terrain locations should expect wet snow, possibly mixing with rain, with mostly rain along the coast.I don’t expect this to be a significant snow event with only one to five centimetres over inland and higher terrain locations, but up to 10 cm is possible for the interior of the Cape Breton Highlands and much of central and western Newfoundland.
