A man who allegedly held Nick Kyrgios’ mother at gunpoint before stealing the tennis star’s car was denied bail in court on Tuesday.
The man who allegedly threatened Nick Kyrgios’ mum with a gun before stealing the tennis star’s car claims he does not remember “much of” the incident due to a change of medication and did not know it was Kyrgios’ car until police told him, court documents reveal.
Kyrgios’ mother, Norlaila, was leaving the house to go to the gym while the rest of her family were asleep when, it is alleged, a man, unknown to the family, knocked on the front door of the property and said: “It’s Chris.”Police allege that when Norlaila Kyrgios opened the door she was confronted by a man dressed all in black and wearing a face mask while holding a long-barrel rifle.
Kyrgios’ agent Daniel Horsfall, who was also staying at the house, heard her screams and called police before the man drove away in the car.
