The Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba’s share offering in Hong Kong, is the city’s biggest offering since 2010.
Alibaba said in a statement it set the price for each share at HK$176, which is below the HK$188 indicative ceiling announced last week. Even at the low end, the listing would still be Hong Kong’s largest initial public offering since insurance giant AIA raised US$20.5 billion in 2010. Mainland authorities have also stepped up moves to attract such listings, including launching a new technology board in Shanghai in July.
