Two-day professional development program features an Indigenous-developed, designed and delivered curriculum

Algoma University has introduced a professional development program aimed at sharing Indigenous perspectives, fostering dialogue and recognizing bias.

"Gabegendaadowin will provide the space and time for participants to reflect on their own attitudes, and perspectives," describes a website about the program. It will cover culture and ceremony, treaty relationships, the Indian Act, intergenerational trauma and resilience, TRC calls to action and the development of a personal reconciliation plan for program participants.

“As we built and expanded the program we realized that it’s not only police officers who can benefit from this training,” explained Paul Sayers in a news release.
