Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has shared a heartfelt message to frontline workers, who are grappling with the death of a young paramedic fatally stabbed outside a McDonald's in Sydney’s west.

Those who responded to the call, including the work partner of the victim, have been given the day off as extra crews are brought in from other regions to cover shifts while counselling is provided. NSW Police Deputy Commissioner Mal Lanyon said the alleged offender was known to police and has had “fairly few interactions” with officers.
