Anthony Albanese has been grilled by journalists over Labor’s involvement in the politicisation of the Brittany Higgins saga.

Specifically of interest was secret compensation payments to Ms Higgins which were settled in December 2022.: “I’ve got a friend in Labor, Katy Gallagher on the Labor side, who will probe and continue it going”.

Mr Dutton said revelations in the text messages meant the government needed to come clean on its connection to the saga. The Opposition Leader said the new corruption watchdog, set to launch on July 1, would have “an interest” in looking at the events surrounding the government’s involvement with Ms Higgins and the payout.
