Pollution levels spiked early this morning but have since improved somewhat

NASA says smoke from wildfires in Quebec has wafted its way as far as Europe, but the effects here in the Sault continue to be far more noticeable today.

As of just before 7 a.m., the pollution levels hit a lung-curdling 341 parts per million at our downtown headquarters, an "emergency" level according to the U.S. EPA PM2.5 Air Quality Index.
