Bringing pre-schoolers and the elderly together to alleviate community disconnection is at the heart of a program uniting playgroups and aged care facilities.
But the children, too, have enjoyed the visits, including three-year-old Holly Campbell, who has made many new friends.
"She now goes into shopping centres and sees an elderly person and runs up to them to talk to them, thinking it's someone from here.Holly also participated in a 100th birthday for one of the residents. He said the centres were an"enormous and wonderful asset" that would create"exciting opportunities for children to play on our sites".
