The Lees — better known by staff and regulars as “Papa and Mama” — have owned and operated the northwest Calgary staple CB Drive Inn since the early ’90s, slinging burgers and their ever-popular crinkle-cut french fries on a daily basis ever since. Now, they’re retiring and handing the reins of the family-run business to the next generation.Sign up to receive daily headline news from the Calgary SUN, a division of Postmedia Network Inc.
“The best burgers and fries. It’s good service and kindness and fast — fast service is my business here,” said 81-year-old Young — a name he jokingly likes to assert also pertains to his age. When asked his name, even on the day celebrating his retirement, he replied: “My name is Young Lee — not old guy; Young guy.”Article content
Happy Retirement, Papa and Mama Lee! It’s been an amazing 30 years. We could not have done it without you all! Thank you. And Thank you, Calgary! #thankyoucalgary #happyretirement
