Yasmin is a 21-year-old arts student who lives in the east end. She says, “During the summer, I work an office job, but during the school year I babysit for people in my neighbourhood.” She says her friends and family would describe her as “friendly and happy” and that she is also “polite — I’ve always tried to not embarrass myself or others.” In her free time, Yasmin likes to “see music at a club, or hang out with my friends.
Andy said he would meet me at the Bloor/Yonge subway station. My dad didn’t like the idea that Andy would meet me there instead of picking me up, but I had already agreed. Andy told me his opinion about everything and anything during the meal. He didn’t know how to have a conversation. He just talked and seemed to expect that I would agree with everything he said. He also proceeded to drink the entire bottle of wine. I just wanted to go home! I was having such a bad time. I didn’t know what to do.
We headed to Massey Hall. Andy kept trying to hold my hand, but the sidewalk was crowded and he wasn’t walking very steadily, so it didn’t really work. I was relieved.
