A man who is accused of fleeing to India hours after the alleged murder of a Queensland woman has asked to be returned to Australia as soon as possible to fight the murder charge.

Toyah Cordingley, 24, had taken her dog out for a walk along Wangetti Beach, north of Cairns, on October 2018 and never returned home.
