WOLFVILLE, N.S. — Cam Whynot have a five-point game Oct. 13 to pace the Acadia Axemen to a 9-2 drubbing of the UPEI Panthers in Atlantic University Sport hockey.

The 20-year-old defenceman from Kentville scored his first university goal and added four assists in the victory at Andrew H. McCain Arena in Wolfville.Banner-raising ceremony honours former Saint Dunstan’s star player and UPEI head coach Billy MacMillan Rookie Ethan Ernst scored twice in the win while singles went to Nick Deakin-Poot, Liam Kidney, Cole Nagy, Tyler Deline, Corson Hopwo and Peyton Hoyt. Freshman Brady Burns had three assists, Zack Jones and Kidney each had a pair while Bailey Peach, Hudson Wilson, Brendan Sellan and Deakin-Poot all added one.

Kurtis Henry and Noah Sedore replied for UPEI with assists going to Kaleb Pearson, Keiran Gallant, Cade Kowalski and Patrick LeBlanc. UPEI Panthers captain Kurtis Henry celebrates his first period goal with teammates Oct. 13 at Acadia University in Wolfville. - Jason MalloyBrayden Peters, playing his first regular season game, made 30 saves for the win. Joe Ranger took the loss, allowing five goals on 20 shots in 23 minutes. Jonah Capriotti stopped 23 of 27 shots in relief.The Axemen held 3-1 and 6-1 period leads. Acadia went 3-for-8 on the power play and killed all seven of UPEI’s opportunities with the man advantage.
