SHORTLY after President Rodrigo Duterte said that he wanted television frequencies reverted to government to be used for online classes, ABS-CBN Integrated Corp. offered its transmission network.“In response to the educational thrust of the government in this time of the pandemic, we are offering the use of our transmission network to broadcast educational programs all over the country,” the media giant said in its official statement on Monday.

Duterte urged the Departments of Justice, Science and Technology, and Information and Communications Technology to coordinate with the Department of Education to use the TV frequencies for online classes. “Come up with a program and implementing mechanism to ensure that these TV frequencies are fully utilized by the government to the facilities of the PTV4 for the utmost benefit of the Filipino people.”
