PETALING JAYA: Indonesian Jeffer Rosobin has been appointed as the Badminton Association of Malaysia's (BAM) new head of the junior department, replacing Datuk Misbun Sidek.

IPOH: The 'Release Najib Razak' secretariat claims that nearly 120,000 signatures have been collected so far seeking the release of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak."We are hoping that we can collect one million signatures to submit to the palace," he told reporters during a forum at Red Crescent Hall here on Saturday ."From the questions asked by the public, it is clear that people are concerned about Najib's case," he said.

Nearly 500 people from Perak, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor attended the event here, including lawyer Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, Makkal Sakhti president Datuk Seri RS Thanenthiran and Tambun Umno division chief Datuk Aminuddin Md Hanafiah. Najib is seeking a royal pardon and in the application submitted to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, one reason given was that the newly appointed legal team led by Datuk Hisyam Teh Poh Teik at the time was not given the chance to prepare for the Federal Court trial on Aug 23.

Najib is currently serving his 12-year sentence after the Federal Court affirmed his conviction and sentence in the SRC case.
