David Anderson has been at the helm of the public broadcaster since 2019.
Anderson was appointed to the position in 2019 and was reappointed in August last year for an expected five-year term. He first joined the ABC in 1989.Bodies pulled from sunken superyacht as missing victims identified"I am still very much committed to the importance of the ABC to the nation," Anderson said in the email.
"To have the opportunity to serve the Australian public and lead such talented and dedicated people across the country, and overseas, for what is approaching six years is humbling."It's likely he will see out the remainder of 2024 in the role.
