PETALING JAYA: The disappointment on the faces of Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik said it all.

The shuttlers admitted that they had handed the China Open title on a silver platter to their opponents Liang Weikeng-Wang Chang by dishing out a lacklustre show in the men’s doubles final at the Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium in Changzhou yesterday.

World No. 6 Aaron-Wooi Yik were gutted as they had a brilliant run in the tournament that included a straight-game victory over newly-crowned world champions Seo Seung-jae-Kang Min-hyuk of South Korea in the last four on Saturday. Aaron did give credit to the power display of Weikeng-Wang Chang in front of their crowd but did not hide his disappointment of letting slip another chance away.
