A local Paralympic equestrian hopes to compete in the Paris Paralympics in 2024

Despite having cerebral palsy and struggling to find a suitable outlet for her competitive nature, she discovered her passion for equestrianism. Now, she sets her sights on the Paralympic Games.
Scott’s trains in Metchosin. Her horse, Dominion, is a 15-year-old warmblood — and they’re partners in the sport of dressage. Through rigorous training, they aim to demonstrate the highest level of horsemanship and compete at the Paris Paralympics in 2024. Scott’s journey hasn’t been without obstacles. Growing up with cerebral palsy affected her coordination, motor skills, and balance. However, everything changed when she learned to ride at her local therapeutic riding center at the age of 11. Riding became something she excelled at and competed in.
