A family of volunteers help out in the kitchen at the Barrington & Area Lions Club monthly breakfast on Jan. 14. From left: Tonya Ryer, her daughter Terri Ryer and sister Lisa Ross were among the 15 or 20 Lions members and community volunteers lending a hand cooking, serving, and cleaning up for the club’s monthly fundraiser.
“The hall is used a lot for fundraisers. It’s also a care centre for the Municipality of Barrington, Bayside and Forest Ridge Academy in an emergency,” says Goreham. “We have a generator donated by the 100 Women Who Care so now we have power and propane and we can cook when the power is out.” Barrington & Area Lions Club president Tania Nickerson and club administrator Sandra MacDonald go over some paperwork prior to a monthly meeting.
