Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has dismissed former Labor leader Paul Keating's outburst, in which he called the head of NATO a"supreme fool," instead focusing on the"extraordinary effort" the military alliance was making to support Ukraine.
On Sunday, Mr Keating released a statement which attacked the military alliancce, saying attempts by Mr Stoltenberg to cultivate deeper ties with Asian nations risked bringing the"militarism of Europe" to the east. "It is long past time we should consider Paul Keating being a serious contributor on national security and foreign policy," he said."Really it demands a proper and substantive response from the Prime Minister because he has previously said Paul Keating is always worth listening to.
