9 vendors in Davao City were apprehended Thursday because of alleged overpricing of fruits and vegetables
DAVAO CITY- Naaresto sa pamamagitan ng buy-bust operation ang siyam na vendors sa Bangkerohan Public Market sa pagdadagdag ng presyo ng mga bilihin kahit pa man may price freeze na ipinapatupad ngayong may banta ng coronavirus disease 2019 , umaga ng Huwebes. Base sa SRP, ang repolyo ay P48 kada kilo pero ibinebenta nila sa P65 hanggang P75 kada kilo. Ang batong na P53 kada kilo ay ibinebenta umano nila nang P60 kada kilo.
Ang saging na lakatan na P53 ang kilo ay binenta sa P70 pesos kada kilo; at ang luya na P107 lang ang kilo ay ibinebenta sa P130 kada kilo. "May walk-in complainant tayo na pumunta dito at nagreklamo na sumobra doon sa suggested retail price ang binibenta nila na gulay sa Bangkerohan so nagbuy-bust agad tayo at napatunayan na sobra-sobra talaga ang presyo" sabi ni PCapt. Rose Aguilar, Spokesperson ng Davao City Police Office.
Paalala ng Department of Agriculture sa mga vendors na seryosohin ang pagsunod sa price freeze. Kasalukuyang naka-price freeze ang mga pangunahing bilihin ngayong may coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic. "In time of calamity kasi base doon sa ating Price Act kailangan may price freeze tayo 'di tayo magpataas ng mga prime commodities" sabi ni Noel Provido, spokesperson ng DA Region 11. -- Ulat ni Claire Cornelio, ABS-CBN News
