Mark McGowan has announced he is stepping down as Western Australian Premier due to the “all-consuming” nature of the job.“The truth is I’m tired, extremely tired. In fact, I’m exhausted. The role of political leadership doesn’t stop, it’s relentless. It comes with huge responsibility but it is all-consuming, each and every day,” he said during a media conference on Monday.
“It’s been an honour and a privilege to serve the people of this state and my community over this time.”
