Shadow Foreign Minister Simon Birmingham says Australians would be “rightly outraged” when reading the claims the ACCC has levelled against Qantas which include the airline allegedly selling already cancelled flights. “If that is proven, and proven in the scale and conduct the ACCC is alleging, then there should be serious penalties applied,” Mr Birmingham told Sky News Australia. “We want to see Qantas be a strong, profitable national carrier … it also needs to make sure that it acts in compliance with consumer affairs laws.”
