Presumptive Cancer Legislation Expert Alex Forrest says it is becoming easier to determine which cancers occur more often in firefighters due to the science behind determining which particulates do more harm in their workspaces.

“It’s all about the science, as science progresses, we see that certain cancers are a firefighter cancer, for instance pancreatic thyroid cancer, very deadly …

but we see that because of the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons the benzenes, the particles … those cancers have increased,” Mr Forrest told Sky News Australia.
