Three men, aged between 63 and 80, were found to have acted as gambling service providers to three people, aged between 54 and 80 during a joint operation conducted by officers from Woodlands Police Division and the Health Sciences Authority .Another 28-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman were allegedly found gambling with an unlicensed gambling service provider.Police investigations against the eight persons are ongoing.
Those found guilty of selling, offering for sale, possessing for sale, importing or distributing e-vaporisers and its components, are liable to a fine not exceeding $10,000, imprisonment for up to six months, or both for the first offence. Under the Gambling Control Act 2022, anyone who is found to be involved in unlawful betting operations shall be liable on conviction to a fine of not exceeding $200,000 and imprisonment for a term of up to five years.
Under the same Act, any person who gambles with an unlawful gambling service provider shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000, imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months, or both.
