A 67-year-old Malaysian man has been making the cross-country trip to Singapore from Johor twice a month for the past 10 years in order to visit his son in prison there.
Showing the spot in front of the prison that he always sit at while waiting until 8am to be able to visit his son, Cheong asserted, His eldest son, Cheong Chun Yin is currently serving a lifetime prison sentence in Singapore since 2008 for trafficking heroin. He was subsequently convicted and sentenced to death but in 2015, it was reduced to life imprisonment and 15 strokes of the cane.
