KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 661 unaccompanied minors are among illegal immigrants currently detained at Immigration detention centres, says Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

"Whereas those detained without guardians were as many as 661," the Home Minister said.

As of Jan 29 this year, Saifuddin said 15,845 illegal immigrants were being held at Immigration detention centres nationwide.He said that Filipinos represented the highest number of those detained, totalling 5,138 .
