A 62-year-old woman, identified as 'drug courier', was apprehended during a sting operation and found with a bulk of drugs at 3:05 PM on Friday, December 27, 2024, in Purok Santan, Barangay Puente, City of Carmen. The suspect, known only as Nita, is on the list of high-value individuals, an ex-convict currently residing in Brgy. Puente, City of Carmen and originally from Dapitan City. The subject of the buy-bust operation was found with 30.30 grams of shabu estimated to be worth over P200,000.
Police Lt. Jessie Tañola, chief of the Carmen Police Station, told Superbalita Cebu that they had been monitoring the woman for several weeks. According to him, she was arrested in Cebu City in 2020 for drug-related charges and was released from prison in 2024 and returned to Dapitan City. However, she returned to her previous activities of drug delivery due to poverty. Based on the information gathered, Nita has contacts in Muntinlupa who provide her with instructions on where to pick up or deliver the drugs.
