60 repatriates sent home after finishing quarantine in Negros Occidental

BACOLOD CITY - A total of 50 individuals in Negros Occidental, and 10 others in Bacolod City were finally sent home early this week after they completed their mandatory 14-day quarantine.

– A total of 50 individuals in Negros Occidental, and 10 others in Bacolod City were finally sent home early this week after they completed their mandatory 14-day quarantine. Some of the 50 returning residents of Negros Occidental completed their mandatory-day quarantine at Mambukal Mountain Resort in Murcia town Sunday.

These repatriates tested negative for coronavirus disease 2019 and were fetched by their respective local government units from the quarantine centers. The 50 Negrense repatriates were quarantined at the Mambukal Mountain Resort in Murcia town since May 2. They were among the 68 returning residents, some were overseas Filipino workers in the province, who were stranded in Manila due to travel suspension brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. They were given quarantine clearance certificates and also pasalubong treats. Meanwhile, Councilor Cindy Tan-Rojas, chairperson of the Action Team on Non-overseas Filipino worker , said that eight students from the University of the Philippines-Visayas in Miagao in Iloilo province, and a couple were also sent home last Monday, after they finished their quarantine at the Medalla Integrated School here.One of them also expressed her gratitude to the city government for accommodating them before returning to their families.
