AT least 43 officers from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) were summoned for an 'initial screening procedure' as the drive to purge the Philippine National Police (PNP) of members who are in league with drug traffickers begins.

AT least 43 officers from the National Capital Region Police Office were summoned for an 'initial screening procedure' as the drive to purge the Philippine National Police of members who are in league with drug traffickers begins.The policemen, who were not named, were on the NCRPO's drug watch list compiled by its counter-intelligence unit, according to NCRPO spokesman LtCol. Dexter Versola.They were called by NCRPO Acting Regional Director MGen.

'Versola said members of the NCRPO's deputy regional director for administration and intelligence group are on the adjudication board to ensure that the review is impartial and fair.The members of the adjudication board 'will [also] be accountable for their action,' he said.The screening results will be forwarded to the PNP Headquarters in Camp Crame in Quezon City for review by the five-man committee.
