The Philippine military conducted an empowerment and capacity-building program for 43 former violent extremists (FVEs) in Timbangan village, Indanan, Sulu. The program, a collaborative effort by various military units, aims to assist FVEs in reintegrating into society and becoming productive citizens.
SOME 43 former violent extremists have undergone an empowerment and capacity building aimed to guide them to become productive citizens, the military said Friday, December 20, 2024. The activity held on Tuesday, December 17, in Timbangan village, Indanan, Sulu, was jointly initiated by the 11th Infantry Division, 1103rd Infantry Brigade, 100th Infantry Battalion and 15th Civil-Military Operations Battalion, in a significant move towards lasting peace and societal transformation.
The 1103Bde said the program is designed to provide FVEs with the necessary assistance and support systems to reintegrate into society.“The collaborative initiative aims to guide former combatants towards a peaceful and productive life, contributing to national stability and communal harmony,” the 1103Bde said in a statement.
