Ireland's Covid-19 death toll is now 1,714

The median age of confirmed cases remains 48 years, and 8,147 cases are associated with healthcare workers.

Dublin has the highest number of cases at 12,239 , followed by Cork with 1,535 , and Kildare with 1,436 .Speaking at a briefing on Thursday evening, Chief Medical Officer Tony Holohan urged people who are feeling the symptoms of Covid-19 to get in contact with a GP immediately.

"The most important actions anyone can take from the moment they experience symptoms associated with Covid-19 is to self-isolate immediately, restrict the movement of household contacts and make phone contact with their GP."The pattern of new cases is almost identical to that of last week.
