CAMP MARCELO A. ADDURU, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – The Police Regional Office-2 seized 4,400 loose firearms in the Cagayan Valley region from 2019 to 2024.
LOOSE firearms seized in the Cagayan Valley region are presented in a press briefing in Camp Adduru, Tuguegarao City on Wednesday.
Eight-hundred fifty-two were surrendered – Cagayan PPO with 110, Isabela PPO, 537; Quirino, 61; Nueva Vizcaya, 143, and Santiago City, one. Meanwhile, the Regional Joint Security Control Council Region 2 was reactivated on Wednesday for the May elections.Commission on Elections-Cagayan Valley Regional Director Boris Ma T. Banauag discussed Comelec Resolution No. 11067 or gun ban. He stressed that the measure is a crucial tool to maintain peace and order during the election period and safeguards the integrity of the electoral process.
