The public are reminded that there are 30 bicycles available for free use on the weekends at the foyer in Gaya Street through the “Love KK Bike: Rides Made Better” programme.

Mayor Datuk Noorliza Awang Alip said helmets are also provided in the programme launched on March 10.“By scanning the QR code provided, people can enjoy this facility by registering online. It’s free of charge. The activity starts at 3pm to 7pm every Saturday and Sunday. “City Hall also offers long-term bicycle borrowing for at least one year to premises or organisations such as hotels, mosques, government departments and other agencies,” she said.

Noorliza said among the programme’s objectives is to promote and encourage the use of bicycles as one of the environmentally friendly alternative means of transport and reduce the carbon dioxide emissions, in addition to encouraging the people of Kota Kinabalu to practise a healthy lifestyle. For more information, the public can contact the mobile phone line 012 3484761 or visit City Hall’s official website.
