3,700 NPAs, 600 local terrorists operating in PH — AFP
The Armed Forces of the Philippines estimates that 3,700 New People’s Army rebels and 600 local terrorists that are still active in the country despite the relentless operations of the military.
“As far as the NPA is concerned, there are about 3,700 regular armed group members and they are organized into specific guerrilla front formations all over the country.
Proof of this, according to Gapay, is the decrease in the number of attacks they perpetrated this year compared to the past year. Further, he said the death and arrests of some of the top communist and terrorist leaders have affected the overall movement of the enemies.
