Court Administrator Jose Midas Marquez and 28 candidates will be vying for two seats in the Supreme Court (SC) that will be vacated by two retiring justices.
Court Administrator Jose Midas Marquez and 28 other candidates will be vying for two seats at the Supreme Court that will be vacated by two retiring justices.SC Clerk of Court and Judicial and Bar Council Ex Officio Secretary Edgar Aricheta announced that all 29 candidates will undergo public interview before the JBC on September 6, 9, 10 and 11.
All 29 candidates are vying for the seats that will be vacated by SC Associate Justices Francis Jardeleza and Antonio Carpio who will compulsorily retire on September 26 and October 29 respectively. Sandiganbayan Associate Justices Amparo Cabotaje-Tang, Oscar Herrera Jr., Efren dela Cruz, and Alex Quiroz have also sought spots in the SC.
The JBC began accepting applications for the seats back in June in anticipation of the retirements of Jardeleza and Carpio.
