While the Kicks isn't a volume leader — Nissan sold 66,823 in the U.S. last year and 13,621 in Canada — it is essential for the brand and its retailers. Kicks sales rose 22 percent in 2023 over 2022. "Consumers are scavenging for more affordable transportation right now," Drury said."Couple that with a vehicle geared toward success with leasing in a hot segment, and Nissan might come away looking like they have a crystal ball."
The new awd capability is complemented by more power under the hood. A larger 2.0-litre inline-four-cylinder engine generates a peppy 141 hp — a 19-hp bump over the outgoing generation.
