Two fishermen who got stranded when their motorboat suffered engine failure while they were fishing off Bagac, Bataan over the weekend were rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

Two fishermen who got stranded when their motorboat suffered engine failure while they were fishing off Bagac, Bataan over the weekend were rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard . Fishermen Giovannie Austria and Angelo Pilote were onboard the motorboat “Martina Leigh” when it suddenly malfunctioned due to a failed engine while in the vicinity waters of Barangay Binuangan on the morning of Dec.

20, rendering them stranded at sea. Personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station Bagac immediately conducted a search and rescue operation after being notified of the incident by the Coast Guard Station Bataan. PCG ship BRP Cabra was deployed to assist in the operation and by 12:09 p.m., the two stranded fishermen were rescued.Austria and Pilote were turned over to regional health unit of Barangay Lamao where they were examined to assess their vital signs.Meanwhile, the distressed boat was towed and transferred to the care of Austria’s niece, Mr. Eugene Pascual.
