Midterm Elections,Philippine National Police,Central Luzon

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has recommended 12 municipalities in Central Luzon to be classified as 'areas of concern' for the upcoming May midterm elections. Police Regional Office 3 (PRO-3) director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan cited historical intense political rivalries and violent incidents during previous elections as reasons for the recommendation. Maranan assured that the region's political situation is currently manageable but emphasized heightened security measures, including increased police presence and logistical resources. He also directed all police in Central Luzon to intensify operations against private armed groups (PAGs) and loose firearms, stating that only one PAG remains in the region, currently under close monitoring in Nueva Ecija.
