PHNOM PENH: Twelve more victims of job scam syndicates in Cambodia have been rescued and Malaysian embassy officials are arranging for their release, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has announced..
“This is the latest information received, over and above the number announced earlier,” he said at a press conference at the end of his one-day official visit to Cambodia. He had said earlier that a total of 287 Malaysians who were victims of the syndicate had been brought back home so far.
Malaysian ambassador to Cambodia, Eldeen Husaini Mohd Hashim, said the 12 rescued victims were in a list of people reported missing. They might be able to return home on Saturday or Sunday if their family members have completed all the documentation including return flight tickets, he said.* Follow us on Instagram and join our Telegram and/or WhatsApp channel for the latest news you don't want to miss.
