MANILA - Eleven officials of the Metro Manila Police are set to be promoted Monday, nearly a week after the unit was criticized for holding a birthday party for its chief.
The public information office of embattled police chief Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas issued the statement Saturday, a day after he and 18 others were charged for allegedly violating pandemic protocols by allowing and participating in a mass gathering.
He will replace Col. Maria Camarao, who was designated as director of the PNP Recruitment and Selection Service. Col. Bernard Yang, who was axed in February for his supposed involvement in illegal gambling, was named as officer-in-charge of the Makati City Police Station. Col. Arthur Bisnar was assigned as acting director of the PNP Retirement and Benefits Administration Service. He will be replaced by Col. Juan Anoñuevo as QCPD's deputy district director for administration.
