Over 1,400 police corporals in the Zamboanga Peninsula were promoted to the rank of police major in a ceremony led by Police Brigadier General Roel Rodolfo.

A total of 1,470 second-level policemen of the Police Regional Office (PRO)- Zamboanga Peninsula were promoted to the next higher rank, police said Friday, February 7, 2025. The PRO- Zamboanga Peninsula said the second-level policemen, who were police corporals, were promoted to police major.

Police Brigadier General Roel Rodolfo, PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula director, administered the simultaneous oath-taking, donning, and pinning of ranks on Thursday, February 6, at Camp Colonel Romeo Abendan in Mercedes village, Zamboanga City. In his message, Rodolfo said that rank is not about privilege, nor a title to be worn, but a responsibility to be earned every single day. 'This promotion is not just a step up in the hierarchy; it is a deeper commitment to the principles the officers uphold,' he added.The PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula said the families and relatives of the promoted personnel were present who witnessed and pinned their new ranks. The oath-taking, donning, and pinning of ranks was also graced by National Police Commission-Zamboanga Peninsula acting director Renato Santos. The PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula said the promotion of 1,470 policemen is a reminder that excellence and perseverance do not go unnoticed. 'It also serves as motivation for other officers to strive for continuous improvement, knowing that dedication and performance will be duly rewarded,' the PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula said in a statement.
